Establishment and Mission Focused on Women’s Empowerment

Thammasat University advances gender equality and women’s career empowerment through structured mentoring programs across its faculties. Led by Thammasat Business School (TBS-AIM), the Faculty of Economics (ECONnect), and the Faculty of Public Health (FPH-TU), these programs support undergraduate and graduate students. They build resilient leadership, analytical rigor, and professional readiness in young leaders, with particular emphasis on helping women succeed in competitive, male-dominated industries.

Among them, the Thammasat Business School Advanced Institute of Mentorship (TBS-AIM), established in 2021, supports the career advancement and professional development of graduates. It places special focus on helping women thrive in leadership roles and progress in their careers after graduation. This mission reflects the university’s broader commitment to diversity, inclusion, and gender equality, offering mentorship and professional support tailored to the unique challenges women face in the workplace.

TBS-AIM pairs experienced mentors with alumni to provide guidance, strengthen skills, and open networking opportunities. By fostering leadership, resilience, strategic career planning, confidence, and professional connections, the program aims to empower graduates, particularly women, to launch and grow successful, sustainable careers. In doing so, it builds an alumni community that makes a positive impact on society and the economy.

Structured Mentorship Schemes and Activities

AIM follows a cohort-based, multi-phase structure where mentees participate in one-on-one mentoring sessions, skill-building workshops, and peer-networking events over several months. The program is specifically divided into distinct phases: initial assessments, personalized goal setting, intensive skills workshops, and final evaluations. These workshops are designed to cover key competencies, such as negotiation, leadership, and networking, directly addressing obstacles women often face in their professional lives. The program is continually adapted to meet mentees’ needs through regular progress reviews and feedback sessions, ensuring each participant receives comprehensive support.

The university implemented a comprehensive, multi-phase sequence of major mentoring activities held during the 2025 academic year as follows:

The structure of AIM which combines individual mentorship with networking opportunities has proven instrumental for women participants. Through their involvement in AIM, women gain access to career paths they may have previously considered challenging to navigate. They also form lasting relationships with mentors that support their long-term growth. Many mentees attribute their success to the program’s ability to instill confidence and provide resources for overcoming workplace barriers, effectively helping them secure positions and thrive in male-dominated industries.

The AIM mentoring program at Thammasat Business School has cultivated a thriving network that supports women in building successful, impactful careers. Through dedicated mentorship, AIM enhances women’s participation and career preparedness, empowering them to excel in job applications and beyond. This initiative fosters a culture of inclusivity, encouraging women to achieve meaningful professional success while contributing to a more diverse and supportive workplace.By combining personalized coaching, corporate visits, pitching experience and executive networking, Thammasat’s mentoring schemes equip young women with the confidence, negotiation skills and strategic insight needed to overcome workplace barriers.
