Thammasat University has established key committees to address sexual safety and promote gender equality.
Sexual Safety and Sexual Awareness Promotion Board (SS&SAP Board)
Established in May 2021, the SS&SAP Board is responsible for regulating and implementing policies related to sexual safety and gender equality. This board comprises 15 specialists from both within and outside Thammasat University.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizing activities that promote diversity and inclusion.
- Developing comprehensive preventive and corrective measures against sexual abuse and harassment.
- Defining processes for submitting petitions and assisting victims of sexual abuse, harassment, or discrimination.

Committee to Promote Gender Equality and Safety Awareness
Following the establishment of the SS&SAP Board, the Faculty of Sociology and Anthropology formed the Committee to Promote Gender Equality and Safety Awareness on July 9, 2021. This committee focuses on the following roles:
- Develop and Implement Policies: Set direction and advise on policies and programs that promote sexual safety and prevent sexual abuse and harassment.
- Enhance Understanding of Diversity: Create plans to foster awareness of gender equality, diversity, inclusion, and the complexities of various sexual relationships.
- Assign Implementation Teams: Designate teams to carry out policies, programs, and training related to equity, diversity, inclusion, and human rights on campus.
- Establish Complaint Procedures: Develop guidelines for receiving and addressing complaints related to sexual harassment, ensuring adherence to established processes.
- Adhere to University Regulations: When a complaint indicates a potential violation of student or personnel disciplinary policies, the committee will act in accordance with Thammasat University regulations.
- Execute Additional Duties: Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Sexual Safety and Sexual Awareness Board.
This committee not only promotes gender equality, diversity, and inclusion, but also monitors and receives information, suggestions, and complaints. Additionally, it offers free legal consultations and assistance for cases of gender-based violence, with pro-bono lawyers available to support necessary legal procedures.

Campaigns and Activities
The committee conducts various educational campaigns and activities, such as:
- Education on sexual harassment and sexual exploitation.
- Events for Thai Women’s Day, addressing gender inequality faced by women in Thailand.
Sexual Abuse and Harassment Investigation Subcommittee
Before the SS&SAP Board was established, a Sexual Abuse and Harassment Investigation Subcommittee was in place. This subcommittee was re-appointed in 2021 and includes eight experts along with student and staff representatives. Its responsibilities include investigating incidents of sexual abuse and harassment involving students, collecting evidence, summarizing findings, and reporting to the SS&SAP Board for further action.

Disability Support Services
Thammasat University also appointed a Board of Directors for the Disability Support Services with the launch of the Disability Support Service Center in 2005. This board is tasked with planning, recommending, and supervising the operations of the center, as well as managing resources to enhance accessibility for students with disabilities.
