Small Children mobile health check-up services and health care education

Being healthy both physically and mentally are essential especially for small children. The health promotion activities and regular physical check-up, then, will provide us the information on health status of these children and enable us to prevent and/or pre-empt child disease in kindergartens and schools.

Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University recognizes the importance of health examinations for small children at Thammasat Kindergarten School to obtain health related information which may affect both physical and mental development of these children.  The program intents to, not only screening for common health problem for children, educating health care prevention activities to both the teachers and students, but also using the program as the training and learning courses for the 6th year medical students in the Pediatrics department.

Children who have impediment or developmental delay in language development and other developments such as intellectual, social, emotional, and problematic are also the key concerns for Thai community.  Researches showed that there are approximately 30% of the newborn children up to the age of six who may experience the delay in language development. It is essential that parents and caregivers must have the knowledge, understanding and skill to care for these children, especially during the situation of COVID-19 outbreak.

“Family Classroom for Impediment Children” project was created by Faculty of Nursing, Thammasat University, to assist parents, caregivers, and children with impediment, developmental delays or with special needs on how to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
