Raising public awareness on the value of water
Water is a resource that everyone needs and is of utmost importance. Conservation and preservation of water resources can ensure quality of life as well as prevent potential impacts on health and the environment. Thammasat University is involved with the preservation of Chao Phraya River from the area of Pathum Thani to the estuary. “Kayaking to collect garbage: from canals to the sea” is an activity to encourage people to be involved with Chao Phraya River and to raise awareness on the values of water. The active participation approach attracts and engages several participants and plants the seeds of conservation mindset.
