  • Global and National Ethical Benchmarks: By embedding transparent governance and continuous oversight into its administrative and academic practices, Thammasat University advances SDG 16 goals and establishes a national educational standard for corruption-free stewardship.

Thammasat University continuously reinforces its role as an institution of high ethical governance by transparently publishing and upholding clear principles and commitments on preventing corruption, bribery, and illicit practices across all dimensions of university operations. Rooted in its dedication to transparent institutional stewardship, the university actively embeds integrity into its administrative, academic, and research environments, ensuring full accountability to the public and university community.

At the heart of this framework is the university’s Anti-Corruption Action Plan (2023–2027), driven systematically by the Sanya Dharmasakti Institute for Democracy under the Thammasat University Anti-Corruption Center. Serving as the primary mechanism for governance reform, this multi-year strategy focuses on transparent administration, anti-corruption culture building, risk management, and integrity in academic evaluations aligned with national Integrity and Transparency Assessment (ITA) criteria. To ensure verifiable oversight and prevent organizational malpractices or systemic corruption, all internal units are mandated to monitor and submit biannual progress reports every six months to the integrity steering committee.

These governance principles are actively embodied through leadership action, highlighted by the annual declaration of the university’s “No Gift Policy” led by Rector Prof. Dr. Supasawad Chattrabhuti under the “ONE TU: Organization of Integrity and Transparency” initiative. Under this publicly communicated commitment, all university administrators, faculty members, and staff strictly adhere to a zero-tolerance policy against soliciting, accepting, or giving gifts, hospitality, or undue personal benefits before, during, or after the performance of official duties.

By integrating published ethical guidelines with structured biannual reviews and practical anti-bribery policies, Thammasat University effectively safeguards institutional integrity, upholds SDG 16 governance benchmarks, and sets a national educational standard for corruption-free stewardship.
