National Summits and Public Forums

The university serves as a national nexus for policy and research, initiating large-scale forums to align stakeholders on Thailand’s sustainable development pathway.

  • Thailand Sustainable Development Forum (TSDF) 2024 (November 27, 2024): Organized by Thammasat’s SDG Move, this flagship public forum is a premier national platform for multi-stakeholder dialogue. TSDF 2024 convened high-level representatives from policymaking bodies, the private sector, civil society organizations (CSOs), and international partners like the UNDP and UNESCAP. The forum is explicitly designed to create a collaborative space to co-create solutions and accelerate progress on all Sustainable Development Goals in Thailand.

  • Research University Network (RUN) Summit 2024 (January 22-23, 2024): Thammasat University hosted the RUN Summit 2024 for Thailand’s Research University Network. This high-level summit brought together leaders and researchers from Thailand’s top univerxsities for a strategic dialogue themed “Driving the Nation towards Stability, Prosperity, and Sustainability.” The event aimed to align the country’s core research strategies with national sustainable development targets.

Bridging Policy, Academia, and Civil Society

Thammasat ensures that sustainability dialogues are inclusive, connecting high-level policy with the on-the-ground realities of its citizens.

  • EconTU 45th Annual Symposium (August 27, 2024): The Faculty of Economics’ flagship public event, themed “Fair and Sustainable Economy for Achieving the 2030 Agenda,” demonstrated a unique cross-sectoral dialogue. The main panel brought together a diverse group of stakeholders to discuss economic justice, including:
  • Government: A key representative from the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC).
  • Academia: An expert from Chulalongkorn University.
  • Civil Society: The President of the Motorcycle Taxi Association of Thailand, providing a crucial grassroots perspective on the informal economy.

Through these multifaceted conferences, summits, and symposiums, Thammasat University consistently demonstrates its role as both an initiator and a key participant in the vital dialogues connecting diverse sectors to build partnerships for a sustainable future.
