Thammasat University’s Anti-Corruption Commitments

In 2018, Thammasat University announced its commitment to integrity in university administration, following the principles of Good Governance. As stated in the following Rector’s announcement:

            “Thammasat University realises that corruption in government sector and government action not in accordance with good governance principle are serious challenges of our country. The university, as a result, has elevated its administration to fully commit to good governance principle and reduce any risks that would lead to corruption, bribery and conflict of interest at all levels of the university … .” (Please see the full statement here).

In 2021, the university implemented the Anti-Corruption Action Plan (2020-2021) (revised in 2021). The university’s commitment is stated in the following sections.

  • Section 1, Vision of the Action Plan, as follows: “Thammasat University is committed to being free from corruption, operating under Good Governance principles, and having an effective self-regulatory system”. 
  • Section 5 states strategic directions, targets, and strategies. The strategic directions cover the followings: 1) build a good governance aligning operation system; 2) develop anti-corruption workflows and instruments; 3) develop a monitoring system on the anti-corruption endeavour; 4) nurture anti-corruption organisational culture.
