Thammasat University Field Hospital for COVID-19

The quality of health and well-being for the people in the community has always been a key focus for Thammasat University. During COVID-19 pandemic, Thammasat University collaborated with both local and national institutes to establish Field Hospital, curing patients suffer from COVID-19.

Thammasat University Field Hospital for COVID-19 opened since March 27, 2020 as the first field hospital in Thailand, from the cooperation between Thammasat University Hospital and the network association of five medical schools (Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University; Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital; Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University; Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, and Faculty of Medicine, Vajira Hospital). Thammasat University Field Hospital is considered a prototype for the establishment of other field hospitals in Thailand, again during the 2nd wave of the epidemic in December, 2020 and continue the support during January until March, 2021.

Thammasat University together with the Office of Disease Prevention and Control Region provided COVID-19 screening to the residents of Patumthani, students, staff, university’s personnel and the community around the university area. There were as many as 3,093 participants in the screening which utilized the high-precision RT-PCR (Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction) testing. Please see more details in COVID-19 screening

During June, 2021, Thammasat University Hospital set up a vaccination center at gymnasium 4, Rangsit Campus and was in operation for 161 days to administer as many as 300,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines. The vaccine registrations were done through “TUH for All” application in July, 2021. Please see more details in COVID-19 Vaccination Center

Thammasat University will continue these tasks and create new initiatives and collaboration in order to improving health and well-being of Thai people with various sectors, including the government, private sector, academic sector, medical school, and other health institutions.

Another project was the collaboration with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) for the “Research and Development Collaboration Project on Digital Healthcare to develop the Smart Hospital”. Please see more details in Research and Development Collaboration Project
